The Loess Hills Lavender Farm grows thousands of beautiful lavender plants and when the flowers reach their peak, the farm throws a big party. One of the most popular annual events in the Loess Hills, LavenderStock is back and if you love beautiful flowers and the enchanting smell of lavender, it’s an event you have to put on your calendar. The farm opens for the 2024 season on May 4th, but it’s all building towards the big lavender festival taking place on July 15th and 16th. - We mentioned Pella's famous Tulip festival above, but don't miss the smaller and more rustic Orange City Tulip Festival, located in the city of the same name. Being held the 16th, 17th, and 18th of May this year, the 84th annual event will feature an amazing parade through town showing off traditional Dutch culture, music, and performances. The streets will be lined with tulips, food and craft vendors will be out in force - and yes, they'll have plenty of Dutch pastries!
- Bloomsbury Farm is active through the year, with festivals in almost every season, but summer is when they go all out with the Flowers and Wine Festival. This is a great one for the grownups, as there are plenty of opportunities to sip your way through the fields. The kids definitely won't be bored, though - farm-themed activities and photo-ops about. And of course, the farm's famous flower fields are open for business.
