The store is massive. It's located at 232 W 3rd Street, in an impressive brick building in downtown Davenport.
Back in 1939, a foundry worker named George Pekios started the book store out of the living room of his East Moline home. The enterprise took off and decades later, it's still going strong, and is now owned by Carter Brown.
The store's inventory is impressive. It has it all - hardcovers and paperbacks, literature, contemporary fiction, sci-fi/fantasy books, mystery novels and books for kids and young adults There's also a huge nonfiction collection - everything from books on sports and entertainment to local history, foreign languages and science and math.
If you can make it past the books, you'll find tons of collectible magazines, comics, music on all the classic formats as well as movies on DVD, VHS and Blu-Ray. The store has publications that are over 100 years old
