It is absolutely amazing how much things have changed in 100 years. We have gone from Model T’s to self driving cars, and black and white photos to holographic images. Our lives have changed in tremendous ways, but you can still see hints of the past in today’s life. Here are some incredible old photographs taken in Iowa 100 years ago – let’s see if you can recognize any of the places pictured!
1. Des Moines in 1915 was still relatively small. This was the same year that Riverview Park, an amusement park, opened in Des Moines. Riverview Park was eventually replaced by Adventureland in the late 1970s.
