The property has a long history. The original farm was part of a land grant in the 1850s. The son of the original settler built the house and farm buildings around 1911. The farm changed hands a number of times before becoming a bed and breakfast in 1993.
In 2004, the farm began producing wine. The owners planted 11 acres of grapes and by 2011 it produced 50,000 bottles of wine, including four white wines, six red wines, a rose', as well as raspberry, rhubarb and cranberry wines.
The Farm House Bed & Breakfast has six guest rooms, each with a private bathroom. Guests are welcome to enjoy the property – you can fish in the farm’s pond, hike a 5-mile nature trail and visit the vineyard, antique store and winery. Iowa is home to a lot of wonderful wineries.
