This Tiny Town In Iowa Has A Little Bit Of Everything
Everywhere you go in the Hawkeye State, you’re sure to stumble upon a quaint little town. It’s hard to believe so much can be hiding in our vast prairie, but Iowa constantly surprises us! One of these hidden gems is a small mountain town that’s dedicated to preserving the Norwegian heritage of its founders, and it does that through festivities, food, history and architecture. In fact, there’s so much to see in the town of Decorah that you’ll never want to leave.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. Nature Lovers will find solace in the many parks around the town, like Dunning Spring Park, where you'll find this beautiful waterfall just a short walk from the parking area.
No trip to Decorah is complete without a trip to visit the Vesterheim. This Norwegian Heritage museum constantly appears on lists of the best small town museums in America!
No wonder Decorah made our list of The Most Beautiful Towns In Iowa. Between the culture, history, scenery and architecture, it’s hard to top this charming little city.
