Most People Haven’t Heard Of The Historic $4 Cassville Ferry In Iowa

If you think you’ve seen everything there is to see in the Hawkeye State, think again! Most Iowans haven’t heard of the historic Cassville Car Ferry, which travels between the Great River Road and the Iowa Great River Road in Northeastern Iowa.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. Find directions to the historic Cassville Car Ferry on the Iowa or Wisconsin side by clicking here. The Iowa side is located at the end of a 1.5 mile dirt road, so be prepared for a bit of a primitive, bumpy ride.

Ferry Hours (river conditions permitting) are as follows:

May: Friday-Sunday: 10am-8pm
Memorial Day-Labor Day: Daily: 10am-8pm,
After Labor Day: Friday-Sunday: 10am-8pm.
Last trip from Cassville: 7:20pm, Last trip from Iowa: 7:40pm.
