How do you get to Pella?

Pella, IA is located approximately 50 miles southeast of Des Moines via Highway 163, 104 miles southwest of Cedar Rapids off of Interstate 80, and 106 miles south of Waterloo via Highways 12 and 63. No matter where you come from, you’ll enjoy the picturesque countryside along the way, getting you in the mood for the intimate, small-town Pella ambiance! 

Is there a bed and breakfast inn in Pella?

Yes, there is, just outside of town.  It is called the Cheesemaker’s Inn and it is absolutely charming! It’s set on spacious grounds and the structure itself is over 100 years old. It was originally the boyhood home of a local cheesemaker who founded perhaps the most well-known fromagerie (cheese shop) in Iowa – Frisian Farms Cheese.

Where can I go hiking in Pella?

Whether “city hiking” in and around Pella, or going to a formal hiking trail, you will find so much scenic beauty everywhere you look. As far as a great spot for the latter, you might head on over to Big Rock Park. In addition to the picturesque trails, there are inviting places to enjoy a picnic, streams, bridges, a sandbar, and other al fresco elements.
