Fall is in the air – cooler weather, leaves changing, and pumpkin spices everywhere. Before the weather turns too chilly, make plans to go apple picking in Iowa! One of our oldest farms offers an amazing you-pick experience, along with cider, donuts, and even hard cider. Make a trip to Wilson’s a priority this season!
This farm was originally established in 1855, and though it's changed hands and purposes over the years, it has been a landmark in Iowa for generations.
In 1980, the Wilson family bought the farm and began planting apples. By 1985, it was open to the public for picking, and has been a must-visit for apple picking in Iowa ever since!
The farm changed hands once more in 2009, and ever since it has been growing, evolving, and turning into an amazing destination here in the Hawkeye State.
Wilson's Orchard also operates a cidery - more on that in a minute - and their apple cider is a refreshing fall drink that really helps kick off the season.
