Keep your eye on the skies this July! At the end of the month, Iowas flock to Indianola to attend the National Balloon Classic. This family friendly summer festival is unlike any other in the state, and it’s worth the trek to see more than a hundred hot air balloons light up the skies over the Hawkeye State.

Every year, hundreds of hot air balloon enthusiasts descend upon Indianola, Iowa to attend the National Balloon Classic.

Up close, the bright balloons seem larger than life! The field becomes packed with inflating balloons, ready to take flight under the guidance of their skillful pilots.

You'll be amazed as the enormous balloons fly right over your head! You'll be so close that you can see the flames keeping the balloon afloat.

More than 100 balloons are registered for the 2019 National Balloon Classic - so it's going to be a huge festival!

The pilots compete with each other for several awards that test their piloting skills and acknowledge the coolest balloons.

Make sure you attend the Night Glow! Enjoy dinner against the brilliant backdrop of hundreds of balloons, tethered and glowing up the horizon.
