Love is in the air, and Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. If you’re anything like me, you’ve only just now started thinking about what your plans for the evening will be. And while Iowa is no Paris, there are still plenty of romantic spots to take your sweetheart this Sunday. Try any of these 10 places for starters:

1. Take your lady to a fancy winery.

If you want a woman to love you, you'd better have wine. Bonus points if it's local wine.
2. Take a wine and painting class together.

There's nothing more romantic than sipping a little wine while painting your next masterpiece right next to your sweetie. Pinot's Palette in Des Moines is a great place to go, and most mid-sized cities will have a similar spot.
3. Or pamper each other with a couple's spa retreat.
