Fall has officially made its way to Indiana, and for many of us, this is our most eagerly anticipated time of year. And while you’ll find plenty of spots to take in all the beautiful fall foliage in Indy, you can never go wrong with paying a visit to our largest state park. Brown County definitely never disappoints this time of year.

Brown County State Park sits right in the center of Southern Indiana, where it encompasses 15,776 acres.

Not only is this the largest state park in Indy, it also happens to be one of the largest in the United States.
The park has been a beloved recreation spot since 1929, although the area's history goes back much further.

In 1932, it was as a memorial to Indiana humorist Frank McKinney "Kin" Hubbard. Abe Martin Lodge, which is located inside the park, is even named after Hubbard's fictional backwoodsmen character.
There are an abundance of activities available here, from hiking to fishing and even camping.
