  • Madison: This charming town in southeastern Indiana sits along the banks of the mighty Ohio River surrounded by the beauty of Cliffy Falls State Park. And something you history lovers may appreciate, in 2006, the Madison Historic District was designated as a National Historic Landmark with more than 1,800 contributing resources, possibly the largest of its kind in the U.S. It was also one of the nation’s first “Main Street” communities and Historic Madison Inc., established in 1960, is one of the oldest historic preservation organizations.
