Treat Yourself To A Huge Banana Split At Scoops Ice Cream In Indiana
Sometimes, you just need a little (or a lot) sweetness in your life. Sometimes, you just kinda want to have dessert for lunch. Or dinner. Or even dessert — who says you only need one dessert? Certainly not us. Well, as it turns out, nestled within the little town of Angola, Indiana, there’s an ice cream shop that’s been serving up ridiculously delicious ice cream for years. It’s long been a local staple, and folks who live around here couldn’t imagine getting their ice cream fix anywhere else. The ice cream is absolutely exquisite, and so is pretty much everything else on the menu, but there’s one item in particular that we, and plenty of enthusiastic reviewers, just can’t get over. Looking for a banana split in Indiana that’s as enormous as it is delicious? Look no further than Scoops Ice Cream. It’s perfection in a dish (or cone).
Typically, Scoops is open multiple days a week during the warmer months, but when it cools down, it's open one day a week.
Though this might be frustrating for some (we get it - we too want ice cream every single day), there's something about this that makes it extra-special the day of. What's more exciting than ice cream day? Not a whole lot, wethinks.
The atmosphere is warm and friendly always, though, no matter the weather.
Seriously. There is no way (well, unless you're allergic to bananas) you won't love it. Even if you're not a huge fan of bananas (same), this behemoth dessert is ridiculously good.
It's easily large enough to share with one or two other people, but... nah.
If you think the photos do it any justice at all, you are mistaken. You'll just have to go in and check Scoops Ice Cream out in person to get the full experience. We can only tempt you so much.
Of course, if banana splits are out of the question entirely, there are always plenty of other options.
Cones, cups, mixes, freezes, cookies, fudge, cupcakes... there's always something amazing cooking up (or cooling down) at Scoops. It's not just the best spot for banana splits in Indiana - far from it. It's the best spot for most everything in the dessert department.
The fact that it's right here in our own backyards, though, is the cherry on top.
As we mentioned, the hours for Scoops vary depending on the year (and sometimes the day). You’ll want to visit the official Facebook page for any and all updates about the coming season (and the hours they’re open on that one special day a week during the off-season). Spring season begins VERY soon – patience, friends!
So, what’s your favorite destination for the best banana split in Indiana? Tell us about it in the comments – hopefully, it’s open all year!

Legend has it that she can also be occasionally spotted typing up short bios in the third person, but those rumors are unsubstantiated.
