Indiana is an amazing place, unbeknownst to… well, just about anyone who dares to underestimate it. Little does the majority of the world know that the Hoosier State is much (much) more than just corn; it’s a remarkably diverse state filled with a plethora of amazing landscapes to explore. The entire town of Michigan City has been called one of the best places to visit in Indiana when the weather is warm, and for good reason: it's the perfect beach paradise for those times you want to run away from it all and escape to the sea. It may not technically be the real thing, but it is a beach... and it's beautiful, too.
Gary, Indiana, is one of those places that has a pretty rough reputation, and it's at least understandable. What a lot of folks don't know, however, is that Gary is home to some of the most amazingly beautiful Indiana beaches, one of which is West Beach.
This beach is an outrageously beautiful little slice of Lake Michigan, like the other beaches on this list. Porter Beach is an amazing place filled with wonder, and it's perfect for those times you need to get away from it all without actually doing the "getting away" part.
We're pretty sure Kemil Beach has the bluest water in Indiana, though we might also be biased in favor of simple amazement. Beverly Shores is doubly amazing; not only is it scenic, it's also one of several awesome dark-sky places in Indiana for the best possible views of the night sky. Combine the night sky with Kemil Beach and you've got yourself a good date night.
Jeorse Park Beach is a lesser-known beach on this list, and it's definitely worth a visit. It's smaller than most of the places on this list, but trust us when we say it's earned its stripes (or should we say its sunbathers?). You'll find this beautiful little oasis in East Chicago.

Okay, okay. Several of the beaches on this list are technically a part of the breathtaking Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, but that's only because it's absolutely ridiculous, and by "ridiculous" we mean "stunning". We're fairly certain that the Lakeshore is one of the most beautiful places in the world, and should you come out this way, you'll immediately know why. It is truly an experience.
