What are the best places for secluded camping in Indiana?

Looking to get away from it all... people included? Below you'll find some of the best secluded campsites in Indiana:

  • Hardin Ridge Recreation Area. The Hardin Ridge Recreation Area is a gorgeous, relaxing camping getaway that feels far away without actually *being* far away. It's 1,200 acres of gorgeous woodlands, forest, and even a pristine lake with a swimming beach!
  • Dunewood Campground, Indiana Dunes National Park. We never pass up the chance to spend time at our sublime national park, and this campground is as good as it gets! One of our favorite campgrounds in Indiana, Dunewood Campground is comprised of 66 campsites along two loops, both of which have clean restrooms and hot showers. You'll feel like you're roughing it in the middle of nowhere, but really you're just in the middle of one of the most beautiful places in Indiana.
  • Hidden Creek Campground. This 95-acre, family-friendly campground in Indiana is, like others on this list, situated around water. There's a gorgeous, crisp creek running through the campground, two ponds onsite that are great for fishing, lots of gorgeous trails for wandering, and all sorts of other magical amenities.

Are there any glampgrounds in Indiana?

For those of us who love the idea of sleeping somewhere quiet and nature-y but aren’t exactly about that whole “setting up a tent, building a fire, etc” kind of life, there is hope – “glamping” is a great alternative to rough camping. And, luckily for us, there’s plenty of glamping in Indiana to go ’round. We’ve rounded up a small collection of campsites that are all the luxury of hotel rooms paired with the outdoorsy appeal of traditional camping. If you’re into glamping in Indiana, check out the following next-level campgrounds:

  • Antler Log Cabins. Take your pick from any awesomely luxurious cabin getaway they've got available at the Antler. Our favorite cabin offers stunning views of Lake Solitude and a fully-equipped kitchen to boot. When it comes to glamping in Indiana, we don't think it gets much better than this!
  • Tiny Shed Glamping. You've probably heard of the tiny house phenomenon sweeping the world, but what about a tiny shed? It's totally possible, as this cozy stay proves. It's an 8' x 11' outdoor shed converted into a bedroom with the coziest bed you'll ever sleep in. You also get firewood and an outdoor fire pit with your booking, and there's nothing quite like a warm campfire under the stars, especially in Fort Wayne. A tiny house + glampsite? We're in.
  • Mary Rose Herb Farm Yurts. This peaceful herb farm doubles as a retreat, with two fancy yurts to choose from for a glamping experience you won't forget any time soon. Possibly best of all, breakfast is included! For more pictures, booking, and any other pertinent information, be sure to visit the Mary Rose Herb Farm website.
