McCormick’s Creek Is The Single Best State Park In Indiana And It’s Just Waiting To Be Explored
Indiana is home to more than 20 state parks (24, to be exact), each with its own draw and appeal, and we encourage you to see them all. However, one of those parks, in particular, stands out to us as the best state park in Indiana, both for its breathtaking summertime landscapes and its year-round appeal. Plus, there’s so much to do that maybe one weekend isn’t enough time to explore it all.

Why is McCormick's our favorite state park out of the 24 we had to choose from? That vast array of things to do was what did it. You could spend a week here and still not try everything.

Other points of interest include the intriguing Wolf Cave, which is along Trail #5. It's a fairly small and easy-to-explore cave at just 82 feet in length, and if you've never seen a cave in person before, this is your perfect chance. It's safe, interesting, and tells plenty of stories about the geology of the region and its history.

Wolf Cave is a very popular destination for bird watchers and wildlife photographers - you won't want to forget your camera! Encounter plentiful varieties of stunning birds, adorable opossums, majestic deer, and so much more. If you really want to check out the wildlife, we suggest you camp overnight.

The park has numerous campsites that you can reserve, as well as an inn and cabins, too. The campsites range from primitive to more modernized with all the hookups, so, again, the choice is yours. You get to choose your own adventure here!

After the rain, the waterfalls swell and the wildlife thrives; life-giving water is all it takes to keep this area beautiful. Well, that, and making sure to pack out what you pack in; it's important to leave no trace of your adventures at the park.
For all the information you could ever need about McCormick’s Creek State Park, this website is certainly helpful (and quite thorough).
