Is there an emerald lagoon in Indiana?

Yes! In fact, there’s more than one. We’re a big fan of the stunning swim spot at White Rock Park, and the amazing Scarce O’ Fat Trail in Washington Township is second to none in terms of its breathtaking color and natural beauty. And the best part? They’re open to swimming! They do fill up pretty quickly, though, so make sure to come early in the morning during the week, if you’re able to. Make sure to pack water, though – drinking any of the water in any of Indiana’s natural pools is very risky, and you can get super sick, no matter how pristine it is to the eye.

Where are the best Indiana swimming holes?

Oh, Indiana, how we love thee – let us count the ways. There are as many swimming holes peppered all over the state as there are reasons to love the Hoosier State. Some of our favorite Indiana swimming holes include the beautiful Lake Monroe Spillway, in Bloomington, and Fox Island Park in Terre Haute is a lovely, seemingly always perfect swimming spot. In Booneville, you’ll find epic swimming at Scales Lake. Need more ideas? Check out this article for plenty of awesome Indiana swimming holes!

What are some of the most amazing natural wonders in Indiana?

Indiana is a beautiful state with plenty to see – and a lot of that stuff to see is nature’s beauty. The Hoosier State is home to the strange Jug Rock, which is the only free-standing table rock formation east of the Mississippi River. It’s made of sandstone and just as unusual as it sounds. Visit Shoals to find it. There’s also the amazing rock formation called the Seven Pillars, in Peru, which are so intriguing that they’ve got a whole park surrounding them. You can’t miss any of our breathtaking waterfalls, either. No matter where you go, you’ll find something natural to marvel at.
