It would remain where it was until the 1960s when it was moved to Adams Street. In 2019, the restaurant closed briefly following the death of its then-owner.
But thanks to a family friend who decided to take over the place, Hinkle's is back - and it's just as wonderful as it's always been.

  • Lincoln State Park (Lincoln City): As a memorial to Abraham Lincoln's mother, Nancy Hanks, this beautiful 1,747-acre park was established in 1932. Can you imagine Lincoln as a boy picking up bugs and climbing trees? If you visit here, just close your eyes as this is where our 16th president played as a child. Appreciate nature along the 10 miles of hiking trails and two scenic lakes. The interpretive center teaches about the early life of settlers in the southern part of the state. Some historic buildings on the site include the Col. Jones Home and the Little Pigeon Creek Baptist Church and Cemetery, where Lincoln’s sister Sarah is buried.
  • Pokagon State Park (Angola): The name of the gorgeous space references the rich American Indian heritage of the region. The park’s Potawatomi Inn is named after Leopold and Simon Pokagon, a father and son and the last two most notable leaders of the Potawatomi. This resort and conference center at one of the state's original parks has a fishing lodge theme. In addition, the grounds are dotted with stone and log structures, preserving the history of the Civilian Conservation Corps.
  • Chain O’Lakes State Park (Albion): If you're a fan of fishing or boating, this one's for you with nine connecting lakes. On the 2,718 amazing acres, you'll find 23 miles of richly forested trails to hike, the historic one-room Stanley Schoolhouse, and a Nature Center. Make it a vacation and stay in a quaint cabin. Or make it a day, pack a picnic, and explore the lovely beach. This park was born in 1960 through fundraisers out of a community need for a place to have fun. It looks like the plan was successful.
