You Can Still Order Classic Smashed Burgers At This Old School Eatery In Indiana
A long, long time ago, in a galaxy not-so-far away, a burger joint was born that would eventually become a staple for the locals. It’s a little Bloomington delight known as Hinkle’s Hamburgers, and honestly, it’s probably one of the best little old-school joints there is. If you ever find yourself craving a visit to an old-school burger place in Indiana, you’ll want to check Hinkle’s out – after all, it’s been around for almost a century for a reason!
This little shop of delights was originally opened on 10th Street by Winfred Hinkle in 1930.
It would remain where it was until the 1960s, when it was moved to Adams Street. In 2019, the restaurant closed briefly following the death of its then-owner.
But thanks to a family friend who decided to take over the place, Hinkle's is back - and it's just as wonderful as it's always been.
Each burger is seasoned perfectly with onions, salt, pepper, and pickle. You can definitely order one without any one of these fixin's, but for the full experience, just go old-school.
Of course, no Hoosier State eatery would be complete without a mouthwateringly delicious breaded tenderloin on the menu.
After all, it's only the most iconic meal you can indulge in while in Indiana. Hinkle's certainly does burgers right... and everything else it serves, too.
So, come on out and enjoy some of the best burgers you'll ever have.
The recipes remain unchanged since 1930, so you know that every time you show up, you're getting to enjoy a timeless classic.
