The Gardens at T.C. Steele State Historic Site are some of the most gorgeous gardens in the entire state. Nestled in the vibrant countryside of Brown County, these colorful grounds are a popular place for artists and nature enthusiasts alike to visit for inspiration and tranquility.
These unbelievable gardens and grounds looks like they popped straight out of a watercolor painting, which is perhaps why they have inspired and encouraged so many works of art.
The gardens are named after famous American painter, T.C. Steele, who was well known for his breathtaking Indiana landscapes. Steele lived here with his wife, Selma (an art educator), and over time the two developed this home in Brown County, growing wondrous gardens to serve as muses.
