Leeds Public House In Indiana Is A Modern Gastropub With Quite A History
Leeds Public House opened in Michigan City in the summer of 2019 after many months of anticipation by the locals. A year later, this eatery is a beloved treasure, and it still has that buzzing “new hot spot” energy. But the building and the story behind it go back much, much further — and somehow, that just makes this place even more enticing.

This is a highly visible spot in this charming mid-sized city, and the building looks fantastic after all of its renovations.

It all started when Daniel Leeds emigrated to Michigan City with his family and established the frontier’s first area hospital, known as the Leeds Building. The pub is named after the Leeds family as a way of paying homage to Indiana's early pioneers.

The space now includes indoor and outdoor bars, a completely refurbished patio for group dining, and a fire pit perfect for gathering with family and friends.

The restaurant serves lunch and dinner daily, and it's delicious.

The crab cakes are served over sweet pea risotto, and they're fantastic.

Of course, there's also a lengthy beer list and wine by the glass or bottle.

The team is taking extra precautions during these out-of-the-ordinary times, and they're ready to serve you a hearty meal on the patio or inside.
