5 Festivals In Indianapolis That Food Lovers Should NOT Miss
Everyone knows that one of the biggest food festivals in Indianapolis is the Taste of Indy. While it represents some of the city’s best restaurants and food trucks, there are plenty of other festivals throughout the summer that offer unique experiences in food, music, and culture. Here are five of our favorites.
A symbol of summer’s end in Indianapolis, Greekfest has been a staple of the community for 44 years. This is a celebration of the Orthodox faith and Hellenic culture. You’ll find authentic Greek foods as well as live music and dancing.

2. Strawberry Festival
Each June, Monument Circle plays host to another festival. This one is a bit more niche, focusing on locally grown strawberries. Here, you’ll find nearly six tons of strawberries and 18,000 homemade shortcakes served up to locals of all ages.

3. Hendricks County Rib Fest
A local Avon tradition since 2005, this ribfest features ribs from all across the county. Here, local restaurants and chefs enter their ribs in competitions for "Best Ribs" and "Best Sauce." There is also live entertainment, games for kids, and a beautiful fireworks display.

4. First Friday Food Truck Festival
Once a month, from May through October, you’ll find this festival featuring some of Indy’s best food trucks. If you’ve read our article on the best food trucks in Indy, you’ll likely see some of them at this downtown festival.

5. Vintage Indiana Wine and Food Festival
If you’re a wine connoisseur who also loves a good meal, you’ll be in seventh heaven at this yearly summer festival. Featuring samples of over 200 wines plus food from some of Indiana’s finest food trucks and restaurants, this festival makes for a great day out for you and your family.
