With just two months left in 2017, it’s important to get out and do as much as you can, especially before the holidays when your free time will be taken up by family gatherings and food comas. If you’re looking for some places to check out before year ends, here are a few excellent suggestions:

1. Easley Winery
If you’re looking for a fun outing that involves some delicious wine, head to Easley Winery and take one of the weekend wine tours. These $5 tours include samplings of seven wines!

2. Sun King Brewing
Maybe wine’s not your thing and you’d rather check out a local craft brewery - if that’s the case, head downtown to Sun King for a tour of the facility, as well as three samplings of some of the city’s best beers.

3. Indianapolis Artsgarden
Whether you head to the Artsgarden to check out Garden Jams (the lunchtime music series) or you just want to see the monthly visual art exhibitions, there’s always a reason to head downtown to this beautiful glass dome.

4. Indianapolis City Market
Operating since 1886, this gigantic market includes over 25 small business, including food vendors, boutique goods, and even a craft beer bar! Even if you don’t have a specific need to visit, you’ll find something that makes the trip worthwhile.

5. Indianapolis Museum of Art
It may have been rebranded as Newfields, but long-time residents will always know it as the IMA. Head here to soak up some modern art, nature, and a great look at our city’s history.

6. Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library
If you’re into classic literature, you’ll definitely want to check out the memorial library of famous novelist — and Indy resident — Kurt Vonnegut. Here, you can see his actual typewriter, drawings, photos, and even his early rejection letters.

7. Rhythm! Discovery Center
If you’re a music lover, check out Rhythm! Discover Center for a look back at the history of percussion. There are multiple exhibits, archives, and even drums from around the world that you can play.

8. Hannah House
Check out one of Indy’s most iconic houses. You can tour the historic Hannah House to learn about the architecture and legacy of this cool old home. You might even see a ghost, as some say this famous home is actually very haunted!

9. Great Fermentations
At this beer and wine supply shop, you can find awesome brewing and winemaking classes. This is a great activity for you and your spouse to do together.

10. Pacers Game at Bankers Life Fieldhouse
Indiana knows basketball, so why not head to the arena that the NBA’s Indiana Pacers call home. There’s nothing like the atmosphere of a professional basketball game, so even if you’re not the biggest sports fan, it’s worth experiencing at least once.

11. Holcomb Observatory & Planetarium
Part of Butler University, Holcomb offers weekend tours and planetarium shows. You’ll have the opportunity to look at the starts through Indiana’s largest telescope.
