Indiana’s a great state with lots of fun stuff to be done. Whether you’re the outdoorsy type or more of a big city person, you’ll find plenty of amazingly fun things to do in Indiana. The Hoosier State is home to some of the best camping in the world, not to mention some of the most unique geography of the Midwest. It’s a land-locked state, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a beach day! And, better still, one of those beaches doubles as – get this – sand dunes. That’s right, sand dunes in Indiana. You could tour our amazing art and history museums or go on a foodie adventure sampling the best breaded tenderloin in the state. Your imagination is the limit.
What are some of the best day trips in Indiana to take?
Indiana might be a relatively small state, but it’s full of cool day trips you can do. If you can dream it up you can probably create a day trip around it. Of course, there are always the classics: spend the day at one of our amazing state and/or national parks, and if you want to stay a little longer, there’s plenty of camping available at each. You can make a day out of visiting the covered bridges in Parke County, which is often called the covered bridge capital of the world! Or, if you’re a little on the spooky side, you could take the day and visit some of Indiana’s spookiest haunted locations, or maybe its eeriest abandoned places.

Indiana, like most places, has many more small towns than it does big cities! Small towns in the Hoosier State are a special kind of unique and ultra-quaint, and we have no doubt that you’ll fall in love with more than one (which makes it kind of hard to decide where to move). Some of our favorites include the little town of Berne, which is also known as Indiana’s Little Sweden. Nashville is an adorable little town and the only one of its kind in Brown County. It’s a haven for artists, so if you’re the artsy type, you’re sure to love it. Angola is awesome...and rumored to be the most haunted little town in Indiana.
