Cities might be well known for their incredible selection of restaurants, but many Indiana small towns put city eateries to shame. In fact, there’s actually a pub located in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere Indiana that may just serve the best food in the entire Midwest.
Located in the small town of Fairmount is the upscale pub Grains & Grill. This incredible restaurant and features local rotating beers, mind-blowing food, and a laid-back setting that you'll love.
Fairmount is almost directly in between Indianapolis and Fort Wayne, placing this hidden gem right in the middle of nowhere. This inventive pub-style restaurant is attached to Bad Dad Brewery, and many of this brewery's beers can be found inside.
You'll find a large selection of featured beers, brews on tap, and bottled and canned varieties. Their pub fare menu includes dishes like blackened fish tacos, barbecue chicken pizza, and pork wings.
Of course, no pub menu is complete without a few great sandwiches. You'll love their classic tenderloin and butterflied chicken breast sandwiches, but their true standout is their bacon mac and cheese burger, topped with applewood smoked bacon and house made cheddar mac and cheese.
Their large plates include items like a gravy-smothered tenderloin, grilled portobello caps, cajun shrimp mac and cheese, and ribeye steaks. With a variety of sides ranging from their specialty mac and cheese to their sweet potato hash, there's an awesome dinner combination for everyone here.
The menu also includes incredible dessert inventions that you definitely won't want to miss out on. One of their most popular selections is their decadent peanut butter tower.
