Here’s The Perfect Weekend Itinerary If You Love Exploring Indiana’s Natural Wonders
Can you simply not get enough of all of the amazing natural wonders scattered throughout our gorgeous state? We’re lucky to have many amazing natural sites to explore and view, many of which are in our own backyards. If you’d love to get back in touch with nature and spend a weekend viewing some of the best wonders of our state, here’s a road trip through central to southern Indiana that highlights some of the best of them.

It doesn't matter what the weather is like for this incredible waterfall. Whether gushing, frozen, or in-between, you'll marvel at this astonishing natural wonder. It's also Indiana's largest waterfall by volume, making it the perfect first stop on your road trip.

This treasure can be found inside of the stunning Turkey Run State Park. You'll witness the most mindblowing sandstone cliffs and canyons here and might find a waterfall or two.

This amazing wonder is technically manmade, but natural handles most of the hard work. You have to pick a weekend while the temperatures are below freezing to see this majestic tree, so hurry up before the weather warms up!

This lovely state park showcases an array of waterfalls that are incredible to behold whether frozen or flowing. The park also offers walking and hiking trails for deeper exploration.

Next, you'll enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Ohio River (with a lovely view of Louisville) at this charming park. This park contains fossils that are almost 400 million years old and is quite fascinating to explore.

It simply wouldn't be a natural wonders trip without a visit to a few caves. First up we have the amazing Wyandotte Cave which contains gorgeous helictites from above and is home to incredible species of cave bats.

This cave system is so unbelievable, it's actually a U.S. National Landmark. This is the top rated cave in Indiana, so you know it's going to be a breathtaking experience.

This often overlooked forest is one of the most beautiful places in Indiana. Often overshadowed by Brown County State Park, this quiet retreat will offer you a less crowded view of some of Indiana's best natural wonders.
