Indiana is filled with many amazing hiking trail. However, some are considered better than others. According to the American Hiking Society, Indiana’s three best hikes are the Charles Deam Wilderness-Peninsula Trail, the Adventure Hiking Trail, and the Knobstone Trail. The Charles Deam Wilderness-Peninsula Trail is a 10.2-mile, out-and-back trail. It’s an easy trail and is perfect for anyone wanting to go backpacking. Several campsites are also located along the trail. The Adventure Hiking Trail, which is one of Indiana’s more difficult hikes, is a 25-mile loop trail, so it’ll take 2-3 days to complete. While hiking this trail, which is located within the O’Bannon Woods State Park, you’ll experience wonderful views of the Ohio River. You’ll also encounter a few sinkhols and caves. The Knobstone Trail, which is located within the Jackson Washington State Forest, is Indiana’s longest backpacking trail. Its length is 43-48 miles, depending on which route you decide to take. This trail is one of Indiana’s more difficult hikes, and it’ll take 3-4 days to complete.

An interesting feature of this preserve is Coffee Creek. Coffee Creek runs approximately 2.5 miles through the center of it. The seven bridges spanning the creek enable visitors to further enjoy the surrounding scenery. This scenic preserve also offers a variety of recreational activities for all ages such as fishing, hiking, jogging, birdwatching, and more. The Coffee Creek Watershed Preserve even has a 3,600-square-foot pavilion with picnic tables so you can enjoy a delicious lunch during your visit.
