The Coolest Small Town In The U.S. Is Hiding Right Here In Indiana
When it comes to tiny communities in Indiana, most people don’t expect much. There’s a place in the Hoosier State, though, that will change your perspective of remote towns. Check out the coolest small town in the state:
Located in East Allen County just 15 minutes from Fort Wayne is the coolest small town in the state. Leo-Cedarville is home to less than 4,000 residents, making it a decently-sized community.
There was a time when the town was split into two villages. Cedarville came to be around 1838 while Leo was founded in 1849. They formed as one in 1996 in order to not be annexed from Fort Wayne.
All together, this town is just less than four square miles, but it is packed with cool and exciting things to do. Situated along the St. Joseph River, the town includes the Cedarville Resevoir.
One of the absolute best spots in town is Riverside Gardens Park. Attracting residents from other nearby small towns, the park includes a splash pad, a play creek, volley ball courts, a half-mile paved trail, a playground, and more.
There are also pavilions you can rent for parties like family get-togethers and graduation celebrations. In total, the park is nine acres and even has bathrooms and electrical outlets for all sorts of different events and activities.
Another fun place in the coolest small town in Indiana is the Leo-Cedarville Park and Cedarville Indoor Pavilion, which is great for parties like baby showers, birthdays, and receptions. There's also a wooden play set that lets imaginations run wild.
In addition to outdoor attractions, another amazing thing about the coolest town in Indiana is the food. While there are several great places to eat, Olde Town Diner is where the locals go most.
This classic eatery embraces the traditional diner cuisine of the 1950s and 1960s. Menu items include burgers, hot dogs, salads, homemade soups, and appetizers like nachos, coney cheese fries, and mozzarella sticks.
Olde Town Diner is located at 14515 Leo Rd., Leo, IN 46765.
A quaint downtown with everything you need makes this amazing little community complete. Bakeries, a second-hand store, fitness centers, beauty parlors, and more abound.
