Thousands of colorfully painted birdhouses, as well as about 20,000 painted rocks, grace this southern Indiana property in a small town that most people have never even heard about. Bill Larkin maintains Birdhouse Paradise, a fabulously spirited attraction that all are welcome to visit.

Don't be shy about stopping at Bill Larkin's place out on County Road 500 N. Though it is quiet out there, all are invited to walk the property and view the multi-colored birdhouses for free. Larkin spent his career working for the U.S. military as a coder where he sat in a windowless room with no color.

The first thing he did when he retired was plant flowers but he needed something more weatherproof in his yard, and that's when he came up with the rocks and birdhouses. Larkin spends his days repainting rocks and putting together new birdhouses to hang in his yard to give away.
