Beasley's Fish Stand in southern Illinois basically sits right on the grandest river in America and is known for the best fried seafood this side of the Mississippi.
In addition to its laid-back atmosphere and delicious eats, this hot spot is known for its budget-friendly prices that haven't changed much over the years.
The most popular menu items are the catfish fritters, fried buffalo fish, and homemade baked beans. Sauces, pickles, onion rings, fries, hush puppies, and other sides make any meal complete.
No matter what you choose to order, no meal will cost you more than $10 for a full box of fresh fried fish. Be sure to bring cash, though, as that's all they accept here.
Beasley Fish also has a fish market that sells fresh fish by the pound. It is open Tuesday through Saturday between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. (closing at 5 p.m. during the winter months). The food stand is open Tuesday through Saturday between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.
