The Freeze in northeast Illinois is a tiny ice cream shack that only locals know about, and at times, it seems like every local knows about it. There is often a line down the street for the treats at this fabulous place.
It's worth the wait for the food from this popular ice cream parlor. Whether you come for the sweets or savories (or both), you'll come away with some excellent spoils.
By way of ice cream, the menu consists of floats, shakes, cones, and freezes, which have candy pieces blended into them. You'll find options like Oreo, Snickers, brownie, mint chip, banana bread, and cookie dough.
This popular ice cream parlor also makes a wealth of sundaes. There are 12 regular toppings to choose from for the run-of-the-mill sundaes as well as additional candy and cookie toppings available for specialty sundaes.
The shop also sells chocolate-covered bananas, funnel cakes, and other novelties.
Smoothies are also available here. Choose from flavors like cherry, pineapple, strawberry-kiwi, and raspberry. You will also find slushies and neat drinks called cool lattes that include frozen hot chocolates, and other specialty drinks.
