Have you lived in Illinois all your life? Have you just moved here? Either way, there are some surefire ways to tell if you have spent a long time here. Here are 12 signs you’ve just spent way too much time in Illinois.

1. Unless they're talking about L.A. or New York, you chuckle when people refer to their towns as "cities."

2. You still grimace when people refer to it as the "Willis Tower."

3. When someone says "horseshoe," you immediately think about dinner.

4. You have fixed at least one tire due to potholes.

5. And you've become an expert at dodging deer.

6. You're used to it being shorts weather, and, an hour later, looking like this.

7. Regular crust pizzas look too thin.

8. You wouldn't dream of putting ketchup on a hot dog.

9. You've pretty much become a huge beer snob.

10. Illinois corn is a mandatory part of a summer meal.

11. You just expect someone in politics to be corrupt and for a bunch of people to be mad about it.

12. You realize that not every state looks like Illinois, and that's what makes it special.
