If you want to explore more of Illinois without leaving your house, take a look at this hauntingly beautiful footage from the Lake Renwick Preserve. It was compiled in 2017, and videographer Kyle Ditch explores this nature preserve without disturbing a single blade of grass. As the drone passes high above this stunning natural wonder, you can see views of this nature preserve that you’ve never had the opportunity to see before. From this vantage point everything looks a little magical.

The 839-acre Lake Renwick Preserve actually encompasses quite a few different areas of beauty. The land for the park was acquired from 1989 through 2010. Three different areas serve as entry points to the park, including Copley Nature Park, Turtle Lake Access, and the Heron Rookery. There is an important wetland habitat within the bounds of this park, and important bird species find their home and nesting grounds here. When visiting, you’ll see such wonders as the blue heron, cormorants, and the stunning great egret. When nesting season is over, you’ll still see bald eagles, American white pelicans, and many interesting winter waterfowl.

All of this combines to create an area filled with some of Illinois’ most charming wildlife. Watch this video as you soar high above the natural wonder that is Lake Renwick Preserve. Get ready to be enchanted, as you start planning your next trip to this wonderful spot. The following video was posted to YouTube by user Kyle Ditch.
