Pick Your Own Berries At Heider's Berry Farm In Illinois

Summer brings with it plenty of traditions – from cooking out in the backyard to evenings at the ballpark. Even if we’ve got our fair share of summer traditions, we’ve always got room for one more, right? Start a new summer tradition, or keep a long-treasured one going, when you pick berries at this delightful farm in Illinois.

Carve out an hour or two for a bit of strawberry and raspberry picking at Heider's Berry Farm, in Woodstock, a family run farm for five generations.

The family-friendly farm offers both strawberry and raspberry picking. Raspberry picking usually occurs in July and in September through the first frost.

If you love black raspberries as much as you love red ones, you can pick them from the middle of July through the middle of August.

Heider's Berry Farm provides baskets for you to pick your fruit, so pick one up and head out to the lush fields with or without the kiddos. (Just be sure to keep an eye on the kids, if you bring them along.)

Love fresh-picked fruit but just don't have the time to spend in the fields? You can also buy pre-picked strawberries, raspberries, rhubarb, and cherries (depending on the time of the summer) right at the farm.

Check out the fresh jams for sale, too, and don't forget your cash or checkbook. Credit cards are *not* currently accepted at the farm.

Add even more fun to your day by bringing along a picnic. Heider's Berry Farm offers picnic tables, and you can buy refreshing drinks at the farm stand.

Go berry picking at Heider's Farm, open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, before heading to the farm, check Facebook to confirm it is open.
