This Waterpark In Illinois With Its Own Massive Waterslide Will Make Your Summer Epic

One of the many pleasures that comes with hot summer weather is a fun outing to a waterpark in Illinois. The lazy river is a great way to relax and stay cool. The tide pool is another way to stay cool, and if it’s one with waves there is a slight thrill mixed in. But at Hurricane Harbor in Cherry Valley, Illinois, there is extra opportunity for excitement thanks to their massive waterslides sure to thrill!

Hurricane Harbor in Cherry Valley, Illinois, is open to the public through early September. The park was originally named Magic Waters, but was renamed by Six Flags in August of 2019.

There is plenty to do throughout the park, but what really sets it apart is The Rip Tide Rush. That's the name for the 75-foot slide that both terrifies and excites visitors.

If steep drops are not your kind of thing there are plenty of other slides, including The Abyss, Tidal Wave, and Paradise Pipelines.

The lazy river is named Castaway Creek and it's a great way to relax. You can just hop in a tube and let the current carry you on your way.

The wavepool is another great place to stay cool, and if you'd like to avoid the massive waves in the deep end, the shallow end is a safe place to stay cool.

If you work up an appetite, there are tons of different food offerings at stands throughout the park.
