You may want to change around some plans this weekend to ensure you get a chance to visit Illinois’ premier English faire. Featuring jousting, traditional eats, and a slew of interesting characters and costumes, this is the event of the summer you don’t want to miss. Check it out:
This all-day event takes place June 22-24, 2018 at Wildlife Prairie Park in the town of Hanna City, which is located in Central Illinois near Peoria.
Some of the best events are jousting and sword fighting. Watch reenactments of these infamous duels with real weapons and chainmail while you root for your favorite knight to win.
Other fantastical activities include storytelling, archery, singing, and much more. Guests will enjoy a wealth of photo opportunities with the scenic decor and cosplay actors.
A new event being included this year is the King's Feast. This $40 meal includes live entertainment, a fabulous meal, and a gift to take home. It takes place Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m.
The fun never ends at this unique Renaissance Faire. There's something delightful and surprising around every corner.
Admission to come frolic and play at this amazing English faire is just $10 for those ages 13 and up while those under that age may enter for $6. Children under the age of 2 are admitted for free, and parking is $5. Dress up in full garb and you'll receive a dollar off your ticket.
Olde English Fare takes place at Wildlife Prairie Park, which is located at 3826 N Taylor Rd., Hanna City, IL 61536. Get more details on the festival’s official Facebook page and the park’s website.
