This Beautiful 20-Acre Botanical Garden In Illinois Is A Sight To Be Seen
Part of what makes spring and summer so special is all the flowers in bloom. What better way to view a colorful display of flowers than by heading to one of the Prairie State’s magnificent botanical gardens. The Washington Botanical Park in Illinois is smaller than some gardens around the state but no less beautiful. In fact, it’s quite a sight to behold.
As part of the Springfield Park District, Washington Park Botanical Garden is set on 20 acres and features 1,800 species of plants.
The Conservatory is a spectacular sight in and of itself. It has a dome that is 50 feet in diameter and houses approximately 150 species of mostly exotic plants.
A walk around Washington Park Botanical Garden is a serene escape. You'll feel so calm and at peace as you explore the grounds and look at all the gorgeous flowers.
