Yellowstone National Park is located just a stone's throw away, so many people make a visit to Bear World on the way. This year they open for their season on April 21st and they generally don't close until October when the bears go into hibernation.
Upon entering the park, many visitors note how happy and friendly the bears seem to be. The park never obtains their bears from the wild, instead they have all been born and bred in captivity. Bear World allows the wildlife to roam freely within large spaces instead of being confined to small cages for their entire life.
At Bear World, you'll observe numerous Black Bears and Grizzly Bears. Nothing can compare to seeing these beautiful creatures up close. It's truly a sight you'll always remember.
However, Bear World isn't just home to bears. All sorts of wildlife can be found throughout the park including Rocky Mountain Elk, Mule Deer, White-Tail Deer, American Bison, Moose, and more. Driving through the park is like the North American equivalent to a safari tour.
The park provides a variety of special experiences that you should definitely check out including bottle feeding bear cubs, curator tours that get you closer to the bears than ever, and even a petting zoo.
There's even a variety of amusement rides that you won't be able to pass up. Rides are included in admissions costs and are great for children, but adults can definitely enjoy them too!
Don't forget to stop by the Three Bears Gift Shop where you can pick from a variety of souvenirs and even get your hands on some delicious homemade fudge. They offer over 20 flavors of fudge including Idaho Rocky Road and Huckleberry Swirl.
