There’s Nothing Quite As Magical As The Tunnel Of Trees You’ll Find At McCroskey State Park In Idaho
There is one road in Idaho that will make you feel like you are in a fairy tale. With thick trees on both sides of the road, this tunnel of trees in Idaho is simply magical. Head to Skyline Drive at Mary Minerva McCroskey Memorial State Park (also known as McCroskey State Park) in northern Idaho, and you’ll see what we mean. Driving along this tree-lined road Is an adventure that is photo-worthy, awe-inspiring, and simply enchanting.
McCroskey State Park is located in the Palouse region in Idaho. It is approximately 25 miles north of Moscow and off of U.S. Route 95.
McCroskey State Park is 5,300 acres and was dedicated to the memory of frontier women. This state park is an outdoor lover’s paradise with 32 miles of trails for hikers, cyclists, all-terrain vehicles, and more. This is one of the few state parks in the Gem State that does not require an entrance fee.
One of the highlights of this state park in Idaho is Skyline Drive. This 18-mile-long road not only takes you through the park, but it also takes you through the most gorgeous tunnel of trees.
Skyline Drive is a gravel road and very rough in some areas. RVs, long vehicles, and automobiles with poor clearance are not recommended for this road.
As you travel through this lush, wooded area, you will come to several clearings. This will give you some of the most beautiful views of the Palouse. Spend some time just enjoying the beauty of this area. It is one-of-a-kind and mesmerizing.
You can make an entire day trip in Idaho (or even an overnight adventure) at McCroskey State Park. There are picnic areas, a group day-use shelter, and primitive camping areas. Be aware that there are no water and trash facilities at this state park in Idaho.
