In southern Idaho, not far from the Utah and Idaho state line, is the small town of Malad. Malad is a small town that sits approximately 15 miles from the Utah and Idaho state line. It is located right along Interstate 15 and is nestled just east of the Malad Valley.

Malad is home to approximately 2,100 people and it’s the type of place where everyone knows your name. It’s a town with deep agricultural roots and where life seems to be just a little more simple.

At first glance, there may not seem like too much to do but you’d be wrong. To learn a little more about the area, you can step inside the Oneida County Pioneer Museum.

This museum is located in a historic building that was once the R.B. Davis Drug Store and Boarding House and was built in 1914. When you visit today, you’ll notice artifacts ranging from photographs to clothing and you'll feel like you've stepped far back in time.
For a day outdoors, head to Deep Creek Reservoir. While you can always just sit and enjoy the views, this is a popular fishing destination and you may catch everything from bass to trout.
