You'll traverse a dirt road from Bloomington before coming to a large parking area which contains the trailhead. As you set off on the trail, you'll immediately be rewarded with stunning views of the area.
The trail has an elevation gain of just 150 feet, so it's definitely manageable by most people. Many people even carry their own kayaks and paddle boards and such up to the lake.
