When you are searching for kid-friendly hikes around Idaho, you’ll find dozens. The Gem State is home to beautiful, scenic hikes with amazing payoffs. One of our favorite hiking trails in Idaho that the entire family will love is in Castle Rock State Park in southern Idaho. The Around-The-Rock Trail is a 1.1-mile loop trail with very little elevation gain. However, you will hike all around the coolest rock formations of all shapes and sizes.
In the northern part of the state, near Sandpoint and off of Schweitzer Mountain Road, is the Viewski Loop Trail. This is one of the best easy hikes in Idaho. The trail is only 1.5-miles long and will take you through wooded areas and to some gorgeous viewpoints. If bringing little ones on this trail, be prepared for a few steep inclines.
When considering the best hikes in Idaho, you must add a waterfall hike to that list. Snow Creek Falls, also located in northern Idaho and near Bonners Ferry, is the perfect hike for all ages and experience levels. You will walk right through the forest and to some gorgeous falls. While this is certainly a scenic trail, this is another hike where you’ll want to be prepared for a few challenging areas along your journey.
