One of the sweetest events Idaho has ever seen will be happening soon, and you’ll want to be sure that you don’t miss it. Taking place over the course of 19 days, the Boise Ice Cream Festival is the first of its kind in the state. This will be the first year that it takes place, but it promises to be a grand event that both young and old can enjoy. Boasting a plethora of ice cream-themed events and plenty of opportunities for tastings, we can barely contain our excitement about this new festival! Keep reading to see all that this event entails and start making some plans to participate in one of the most delicious festivals in Idaho.
Something super sweet is happening in Idaho later this month and it's a must-see event. The 2019 Boice Ice Cream Festival is the first of its kind in the capital city and we couldn't be more stoked for it.
The festival will take place from May 28 through June 15. That's 19 full days of lip-smackin'-good fun. The festival boasts a long list of events already, with the promise of more being added later on. The events will take place at locations around downtown Boise, such as Goody's Soda Fountain and Wild Root Cafe.

Personally, I'm excited for "The History of Ice Cream in Boise", which takes place on June 4 and will contain a panel discussion on Boise's history with this tasty treat. Be sure to stick around for a tasting of some freshly-made ice cream!
Another one you'll want to keep an eye out for is "Iced Coffees and Affogatos", which will take place May 30 at Form & Function Coffee. This event is perfect for those with a love of both ice cream and caffeine, so don't miss it.
"Pedals and (Ice Cream) Pints" is a unique event on June 15 which is bound to be fun for the whole family. You'll board one of these bike bars and ride around the city taking in the sights while consuming pints of ice cream.
Whatever you do, be sure to make it for the festival's finale: the Grand Tasting. This epic ice cream tasting will take place at JUMP Boise and it'll feature more than 200 flavors of ice cream, most of them local. Tickets to the tasting are $25 and will score you tastings for 120 desserts, so be sure to bring an appetite.
The few events featured here are just a taste of what's to come at the Boise Ice Cream Festival. After all, the event will take place over a span of more than two weeks, so you can rest assured there will be plenty to do.
