Soak Under The Stars At This Historic Hot Spring In Idaho
When you find yourself in some desperate need of rest and relaxation, there’s one iconic Idaho experience that never disappoints: hot springs. Our state is full of them, but there’s one historic hot spring that has gone above and beyond to prove itself as one of the most relaxing places in the state. People have been soaking in these hot springs forever and it’s almost like there’s something in the water that you simply can’t find anywhere else. Not only that, but this pool is open for nighttime soaks. This means you can soak under the stars for the ultimate relaxation experience. Try it and see for yourself!
There are definitely a lot of hot springs to choose from here in Idaho, but one there's one that definitely stands apart from the rest: the one and only Lava Hot Springs.
Lava Hot Springs is world-famous for their hot pools. After all, the town is named after them! People have been bathing in these relaxing waters for hundreds of years, and they were officially granted to the state for public use as far back as 1902.
Lava Hot Springs' famous mineral water is believed to have curative properties and some would go as far to say they are "healing waters". Bubbling straight out of the underground springs, a soak in the massive hot pool is the perfect way to unwind and recharge.
On top of it all, Lava Hot Springs is one of the few hot spring complexes that's open late at night. This means you can treat yourself to a restorative soak underneath the magic of the night sky!
Lava Hot Springs is open every day of the year, excluding Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. During the summer, they are open from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., so you can truly soak all day long. Relaxing in the hot pool during the day is one thing, but doing it underneath the glimmering moon and stars is entirely different.
The natural water temperature of the pool ranges between 102 and 112 degrees. Best of all, no sulfur is present in the mineral water. This means there's no bad odor! With five outdoor gravel or rock bottom pools to choose from, there's plenty of space to enjoy the water for yourself.
Whether you're looking for a destination for some personal "me time" or a date beneath the stars, a night spent at Lava Hot Springs never disappoints. Treat yourself to an evening you'll remember and give them a visit soon.
