If you love Halloween, there are haunted hikes, houses, and other attractions scattered around the state that are creepy in every single way. But, if you only have time to visit one town in the Gem State that offers all types of Halloween festivities, Idaho Falls is just the place. Throughout the year, this is a charming city filled with a gorgeous riverwalk, family-friendly attractions, and delicious places to eat. But, during Halloween, Idaho Falls becomes one of the best Halloween towns in Idaho to visit. Here’s why.

Idaho Falls and the surrounding area are packed with fall festivities and Halloween attractions that are going to entice, excite, and spook individuals of all ages. With all that there is to do, we suggest planning a full weekend getaway or at least multiple days in eastern Idaho … you are going to need it.
One of the most popular Halloween attractions in Idaho Falls is Planet Doom. Located right in the heart of Idaho Falls, this is the largest haunted house in eastern Idaho, and it is definitely creepy.
Planet Doom is an award-winning indoor attraction that is 32,000 square feet and where you’ll encounter all types of creepy creatures. But the coolest thing about this attraction is that it is all volunteer, and its profits benefit the Bonneville County D.A.R.E. program.

If you are searching for a paranormal experience this Halloween or you just want to hear some crazy ghost stories, take a ghost walk tour in downtown Idaho Falls.
This 90-minute walking tour takes you to many historic areas in Idaho Falls where paranormal activities have been reported. You will hear all types of stories about the spirits who still haunt this Idaho town, and you never know what you will see, hear, or feel on your adventure.

That isn’t all. Just a short drive outside of town, you’ll also find multiple scary and creepy attractions like the Haunted River in Menan, Haunted Mill in Teton, and even a haunted theater and hospital in Shelley.
And if you want to spend the night in one place that is truly spooky, just north of Idaho Falls is the Old Roberts Hotel, one of the most haunted buildings in eastern Idaho.
This historic hotel dates back to the late 1800s. You'll never know what type of experience you will have at the Old Roberts Hotel as it is believed there are at least 15 spirits who haunt this building.
But Idaho Falls isn’t just for ghost hunters and those who desire a fright during the Halloween season. There are also all types of family-friendly attractions as well. For example, some of the most popular include the local pumpkin patches and corn mazes.
Individuals of all ages will love to visit U-Pick Red Barn and New Sweden Farms, both located in town. There are also multiple other pumpkin patches and corn mazes in surrounding towns like Blackfoot and Rexburg you can check out if you want to go someplace a little different.
And, of course, located at McCowin Park in Ammon is the annual Pumpkin Walk. You can stroll through the incredible pumpkin displays created by businesses, clubs, organizations, and community members.
This annual event is free to the public and also features food, music, and a good time. It’s one event that will certainly put a smile on your face.
