Welcome to Ted’s Bakery, an incredible food truck nestled on Oahu’s north shore that is famous not only for their mouthwatering cream pies but other bakery items as well as to-die-for plate lunches.
What began as a small grocery store near Sunset Beach in 1956 has become a household name throughout Hawaii. Ted’s Bakery was officially born in 1987, but it wasn’t until 1996 that its cream pies were wholesaled to stores and supermarkets across the island, and even later that the small bakery expanded to become a full-service eatery.
Here you will find an impressive selection of pies, cakes, pastries, and bread. While their chocolate haupia pie is the most famous, they actually have nineteen other pies on their menu.
From island-inspired flavors like macadamia nut cream pie, strawberry guava pie, and lilikoi and pineapple cheese pies to classics like pumpkin, chocolate cream, and chocolate peanut butter cream pie, it’s hard to choose a favorite.
But that’s not all Ted’s Bakery does — they also serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner food. Some of the most popular dishes include garlic shrimp, loco moco, and the fried rice special.
If you’re making the trip out to Ted’s Bakery first thing in the morning, you can’t go wrong with a cup of coffee and an order of banana pancakes or one of their specialty omelets.
From chicken katsu and Hawaiian short ribs to garlic shrimp, mahi-mahi, and loco moco, you’re sure to find a plate lunch that satisfies even the pickiest eater in your family.
While you can find Ted’s pies across the Hawaiian Islands at a variety of grocery stores across the islands, you really must visit their eatery near Sunset Beach as often as you can.
