Nestled along the coast of windward Oahu between Makapu’u Point and Waimanalo Beach, this picture-perfect location features fine, white sand and crystalline turquoise waters crashing against the confines of a man-made lagoon.
How do you know you’re in the right spot? Well, the lagoon is backed by the real-life setting for Robin’s Nest, the breathtaking oceanfront estate owned by millionaire pulp novelist Robin Masters on Magnum P.I.
The private residence isn’t open to the public, visitors are still welcome to walk along the public beach and swim in the tidal pool. After all — Hawaiian beaches are all open to the public.
Don’t forget your camera! Always enticing, sparkling blue waters and the view of Rabbit Island in the background make this spot one of the prettiest on the island.
The best way to visit what's known as the Magnum P.I. Lagoon is to find the public right of way to the beach on Kalanianaole Highway and walk along the beach. Just be careful to time your visit with the tides — you don't want to get stuck along the sea walls here.
