It’s Impossible To Drive Through This Delightful Hawaii Town Without Stopping
Located on Oahu’s windward shore off Kamehameha Highway and at the end of the Pali Highway is the charming and historic Kailua Town. Home to approximately 38,000 residents, incredible beaches, skyrocketing real estate prices and a low-key eclectic vibe, there’s a sort of charm in this bustling little seaside community.
The small-town + eclectic vibes will draw you in.
Kailua is not only home to a charming vibe, but has low crime rates, a booming economy, and all the conveniences you'll find in a much larger city.
Kailua is home to world-class beaches.
With powder-soft, white sand, magnificent turquoise, clear water, and swaying palm trees, Kailua + Lanikai beaches are absolutely magical.
You’ve got the Mokulua Islands right offshore.
Located less than a mile offshore on the Windward coast of Oahu lie two tiny little islets. The Mokulua Islands, affectionately referred to as simply “the mokes,” are one of the Oahu’s most popular day trip destinations, and rightfully so. These dreamy little islands – and the turquoise water you must paddle through to reach them – are absolutely incredible, and easy to reach regardless of skill.
And the hiking opportunities are pretty incredible.
From the mostly-easy Lanikai Pillbox trail to some harder ridge hikes, Kailua is a haven for hikers who love being rewarded after a hike with breathtaking views.
The sunrises are seriously unreal.
There's truly no better way to start your day than by witnessing one of Kailua's famous sunrises over the Mokes.
Kailua is home to countless mouthwatering restaurants.
From the eclectic Kalapawai Cafe & Deli and scrumptious Morning brew to Lanikai Juice, Paniolos, and Uahi Island Grill, the town of Kailua is home to some of the best food on the island.
The shopping can’t be beat.
Whether you're visiting Oahu or just need some retail therapy, Kailua's many eclectic boutiques are full of incredible finds.
The Kailua Farmers’ Market is a must-visit.
Part local get-together and part farmers’ market, this market places an emphasis on organic and vegan items, as well as some killer prepared food, and live entertainment. The market is held every Thursday from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
You won’t find prettier views anywhere on the island.
I think the photos speak for themselves...
