The Kiholo-Huehue Trail is a 2.6-mile trail that can be found near Kailua Kona. This lightly trafficked loop is good for all hiking skill levels and only has a 206-foot elevation gain.
The trail's terrain is relatively flat with stones and vegetation and you will pass by several houses along the way. Wildlife is abundant in this area, so don't be surprised if you stumble upon deer, mongoose, or a variety of forest and sea birds.
Along the pathway, you will encounter a small pool of cold water that's worthy of a stop. This is a collapsed, open-air lava tube known as the Kaenalele, although it is also referred to as "Queen's Bath."
When you get to the black sand and pebble beach, your jaw will drop at the sight of the turquoise lagoon! This gorgeous body of water is Wainanali'i Pond.
Just take some time to take in the breathtaking sight in front of you before going for a swim in the calm, refreshing water!
