There’s a lot to love about Atlanta, and if you ask us, the city’s rich history doesn’t get nearly the attention that it should. There are so many districts within the city that have immense historical value. One of ATL’s most culturally significant neighborhoods is the Sweet Auburn district just east of downtown. This primarily African American neighborhood has been named a National Historic Landmark District thanks to its history and development during the Jim Crow era. The neighborhood is also home to one of the best spring festivals in Georgia: the annual Sweet Auburn Springfest. This weekend of fun is one of the largest free family events in the entire Southeast, and it’s always a blast. This year’s festival takes place May 13-May 14, 2023. Check it out:
