This Georgia Church Inn Is The Ultimate Savannah Getaway

There are a great many places you can stay in Savannah, Georgia. The city draws millions of visitors each year, with many opting to stay in the downtown area. There are countless hotels, bed and breakfasts, and Airbnbs available, each offering its own charm and unique attributes. One spot that manages to be even more intriguing than most of the inns in this beautiful city is Sanctuary Inn. This cozy getaway is tucked away inside of a historic church!

This building was originally St. Paul's Episcopal Church, constructed in 1889. The church was used as the home for several congregations before eventually shutting down.

By 2002, the building had fallen into disrepair. It was purchased by the current owner and given a complete remodel. It's now two separate lofts that make up Sanctuary Inn.

We love the stained glass windows and little touches that speak to the building's original use.

Many of the windows are actually from the original church, though some could not be salvaged. Much of the interior wood is from the original roof and siding.

The Bell Tower Loft has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and can accommodate up to four guests.

The Airbnb is right in the heart of downtown Savannah, so you aren't far from many of the city's best attractions.
